August 10th 2011: Long Time No See

Well we surly haven't been admitted into Children's for awhile, and we are hoping we will be going home soon. Janessa on Monday evening was starting to get warm, and developed a fever around 3AM. I gave her some tylenol, and at 6AM her temperature had dropped, it wasn't until I noticed she had slept in until 11AM the next morning that her temp could be back up, and it was; it was a 102.6 which is very high for her speaking she never has had a fever in her life, so off to Children's we went.

By the time we got to the ED, she had a temp of 104, and was going to be admitted. After various cultures were drawn, and a suppository was given, Janessa went back to her normal self. Last night we had a lot of issues trying to get her to go to sleep, she was very fussy, probably from the new atmosphere, and she isn't sleeping in her bed! Apparently her fever went back up as well overnight, and she became really puffy(Which she still is today) from all the hydration.

This morning ICARE members came down to let me know that they are pretty positive her fever came from a urinary stand point, and wasn't a central line infection(Thank goodness). Apparently there is an overgrowth of staph in her urine, and is being treated right now.

Our hopes now are to get up to 7B(they didn't have room up there yesterday) and hopefully get home tomorrow. On top of all this I am still trying to recover from my wisdom teeth surgery, and I am having the hardest time eating, and feel so nauseated from my medicine! Hopefully we all heal up soon!!!
